About Dolus

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dolus lived out his passion for music as a child on a self-made guitar. He has lived in South Africa since 2002 and immersed himself in the local music scene, playing with AFRO FIESTA, for example. Based in Leipzig since 2010, the songwriter, singer, guitarist, bassist and percussionist released his solo album "Long Journes" with 14 orignial songs in 2014. Since he has been playing shows all over Germany and Europe, either as a solo artist or together with his band "Bena Kwetu".

Dolus' memorable voice sings in French, Lingala, Swahili and English with a touching timbre, while an acoustic-analog mood characterizes the songs.

Album "Long Journey"

The album “Long Journey”, released in 2014, comprises incredibly warm and lively music between world, afrobeat, urban folk, blues and soul. Although the 14 original compositions are the singer's first solo releases, they were brought into perfect form in the studio with the help of many guests on instruments such as saxophone, violin, djembe, piano and, above all, backing vocals.
